Located underground in The Hoxton Hotel comes Lazy Bird. A new cocktail lounge and the first Boka Restaurant Group has designed completely. Lazy Bird features a 65 seat room, 52 classic cocktails, speakeasy lighting, and a baby grand piano. The cocktail menu is a very cool looking book style bound menu featuring an extensive cocktail list with hand drawn illustrations and is available for purchase for $75. 52 cocktails is a very large selection and features drinks like the improved whiskey cocktail made with cask strength bourbon, leopold brothers maraschino, absinthe, bogart’s bi tters and simple syrup. Lazy Bird will also offer a special rotating drink. Another nice addition and giving the feel of a more classic space is the speakeasy lighting and lounge seating which helps to make the space never seem to packed. The staff is friendly and definitely knows their drinks. The lounge will also feature live music from Chicago’s renowned musicians like JC Brooks, Joel Norman and others. Live music will not be nightly so be sure to check their music schedule. Lazy Bird is overall a great spot and I can’t wait to go back.
